Created in 1991, more than 488 community leaders have participated in the Leadership Scott County Program. Monthly sessions consisting of local history, education, government, agriculture, economics, health care and public services provide participants the background knowledge of our community while developing leadership skills.
Prior to 2019, the Georgetown/Scott County Chamber of Commerce administered the program through a committee. In 2019, the organization, Leadership Scott County was officially established in an effort to change and grow the program outside of but, while maintaining ties with the Chamber. The Board of Leadership Scott County went through an extensive strategic evaluation of the program based on input from community leadership and past participants to develop the mission and vision for the future of the program.
